Oumar's father
Barka Dia

It breaks your heart to see someone ripped away from his family because of hate. But the way Colorado responded to the loss does restore your faith in people. Oumar Dia's father told me Colorado's reaction to his son's murder taught him there are more good people in America than bad.

He is right.

The legacy of Oumar Dia is reflected in the story of how Colorado discovered its humanity...by embracing one man's dream.

Thank you for taking the time to share this journey, and thank you NEWS4 for allowing us to tell this story.

I don't think any of us on this trip will ever look at life or people the same way again.
